Our products are used in a wide range of applications and industries. Our engineers have
detailed industry knowledge that is used to ensure that we select and supply valve products
that meet the requirements of the specific application.
Examples of the applications that we meet in the power generation industry can be divided
between the feed water and steam cycles. In the feed water system we supply critical service
isolation, control and non return valves for the most advanced ultra supercritical power plants
being built today. Specific applications include main feedwater pump minimum flow protection,
feedwater heater isolation and bypass, plus attemporator spraywater isolation and control.
The most modern available materials are utilised to provide high strength and light weight.
In the superheated steam system we supply valves for main steam isolation, vents and drains,
turbine extraction steam non return and isolation valves. With steam temperatures in excess of
600°C correct valve design, and material selection is paramount.
In nuclear power plants, our main application is cooling water, or seawater intake isolation which
requires large diameter butterfly valves in corrosion resistant materials such as duplex stainless
steels.
Specific valve applications in the petrochemical and process industries are too numerous to
list, however they all share a common characteristic of requiring careful valve selection. The
requirements include extremes of temperature ( high and low ) , pressure , seat tightness,
erosion, and corrosion resistance.
